Multiplication is repeated addition. 4 x 3 means 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 12.
Know your times tables up to 10 x 10. Some useful facts:
- Any number x 1 = the same number
- Any number x 0 = 0
- To multiply by 10, add a zero: 34 x 10 = 340
Multiplying a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number
Example: 46 x 3
