Fractions
A fraction is a part of a whole. In 3/4, the bottom number (denominator) shows the whole is cut into 4 equal parts, and the top number (numerator) shows we take 3 parts.
Comparing fractions with the same denominator: the bigger numerator is bigger. 3/8 > 1/8.
Adding fractions with the same denominator: add the numerators only. 2/5 + 1/5 = 3/5.
