Adding with regrouping (carrying)
Line up the digits by place value, then add from the ones.
Example: 2,458 + 1,367
- Ones: 8 + 7 = 15, write 5, carry 1
- Tens: 5 + 6 + 1 = 12, write 2, carry 1
- Hundreds: 4 + 3 + 1 = 8
- Thousands: 2 + 1 = 3
- Answer: 3,825
