Farming
- Crop farming: tea (Kericho, Nyeri), coffee (Kiambu, Murang'a), maize (Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu), sugarcane (Kakamega, Kisumu), horticulture (flowers at Naivasha).
- Livestock: dairy farming in the highlands; pastoralism (nomadic herding) in dry areas.
